Supercharger allows you to manually override the AI-generated output for individual modules on a per-post basis. This gives you full editorial control while still benefiting from automation across your content library.
When to Use Overrides
Overrides are useful when:
- The AI-generated result for a specific post isn’t accurate or appropriate
- You have a specific pull quote or summary in mind for editorial reasons
- The post topic is niche or technical and the AI’s output misses the nuance
- You want to A/B test a manually crafted version against the AI version
How Overrides Work
When you enter an override value, Supercharger stores it separately from the AI-generated value. The override takes precedence — the AI result is kept in the database but is not shown on the front end.
If you clear the override field and save, Supercharger reverts to the AI-generated version.
Available Override Fields
Overrides are available for modules that produce textual output. You’ll find the fields in the Supercharger sidebar in Gutenberg:
| Module | Override Field |
|---|---|
| AI Quote Puller | Custom pull quote text |
| AI Content Summarizer | Custom summary / TL;DR text |
| AI Key Moments | Custom list of key points (one per line) |
| AI Key Questions | Custom list of questions (one per line) |
| AI Excerpts | Handled directly by WordPress’s built-in excerpt field |
Setting an Override
- Open the post in the Gutenberg editor.
- Open the Supercharger sidebar.
- Locate the module’s override field.
- Enter your custom text.
- Click Save or publish/update the post.
The custom value takes effect immediately on the front end.
Clearing an Override
To revert to the AI-generated version:
- Open the Supercharger sidebar.
- Clear the override field (delete all text).
- Save the post.
Supercharger will display the AI-generated content again on the next page load.
