What is Supercharger?
Supercharger is an AI-powered engagement toolkit for WordPress. Its purpose is simple: help your readers get more value from your content and keep them on your site longer.
Unlike generic AI writing assistants that focus on generating new content, Supercharger is focused on enhancing the reading experience — every module works on your existing articles to make them easier to navigate, understand, and act on.
What Supercharger Does
Supercharger analyzes your existing posts and articles using large language models (LLMs) and automatically:
- Highlights the most important paragraphs so readers can skim effectively
- Extracts and displays compelling pull quotes
- Recommends semantically related content to encourage further reading
- Generates concise TL;DR summaries for long-form content (Pro)
- Creates interactive key moments and FAQ widgets (Pro)
- Shows smart recirculation prompts at the right moment — when a reader is about to leave (Pro)
How It Works
Supercharger operates in two distinct phases:
1. Indexing
When you configure Supercharger, it processes your posts in the background. Each article is broken into sections, sent to your chosen AI provider, and converted into a vector representation (an embedding) stored in your database. This is what powers semantic recommendations — the plugin understands meaning, not just keywords.
2. Generation
When a reader opens a post, Supercharger’s active modules either generate their output on-the-fly or serve cached results. The AI reads the post content and produces context-aware widgets: a pull quote suited to this article, highlights in this paragraph, or a recommendation for this reader’s context.
Architecture Overview
Supercharger uses a modular architecture. Each feature is an independent module that you can enable or disable without affecting others. Modules can be configured individually with their own settings, and they operate independently — you can run two or twelve at the same time.
The plugin supports multiple AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, and OpenRouter). You bring your own API key and choose which provider powers the plugin. All modules come with full visual customization — fonts, colors, spacing, border radius, shadows, and design presets — so every widget can match your site’s style exactly.

The Free plan includes 3 core modules to get you started. The Pro plan goes further — it unlocks all 12 modules and adds a set of capabilities that are not available in the free version at all.
Real-Time Interactive Preview. When customizing a module’s appearance, Pro gives you a live preview that updates as you change settings — fonts, colors, spacing, corner radius, shadows. You can see exactly how a widget will look on your site before saving, without publishing changes or opening a separate browser tab.
Advanced Analytics & Statistics. The Statistics screen tracks impressions, clicks, and click-through rate for each module across your content. This makes it easy to see which modules are performing, which articles drive the most engagement, and where there is room to improve — directly informing decisions about layout, positioning, and which modules to prioritize.
Elegant Dark Mode. The Supercharger admin panel includes a polished dark color scheme that activates automatically based on your OS preference or can be toggled manually. It applies consistently across all screens — dashboard, module settings, statistics, and tools.
Priority Support. Pro users get direct 24/7 support with faster response times for setup questions, troubleshooting, and anything else that comes up.
Pro licensing is a one-time payment with lifetime access. Eligible Code Supply Co. themes can also include Pro-level access with the theme purchase.
System Requirements
- WordPress: 6.0 or higher
- PHP: 8.0 or higher
- Database: MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.3+
- AI Provider account: At least one supported provider with an active API key
- OpenAI API key: Required specifically for generating vector embeddings (semantic recommendations). Other providers can be used for text generation independently.
