Type: Pro
Purpose: Inserts contextually relevant links to related posts directly within the article body, creating natural in-text discovery opportunities for readers.
What It Does
Instead of placing recommendations in a block at the bottom of the page, the AI Inline Recommendations module inserts them as contextual links or small cards within the article text itself. Each link appears at a point in the article where the related content is directly relevant to what the reader is currently reading.
This mimics the editorial practice of inline linking — recommending related reading at the exact moment it’s most relevant.
How It Works
Supercharger analyzes the article and, using the vector index, identifies related posts. For each related post, it determines which paragraph in the article is most thematically connected to that related post. A recommendation link or card is then inserted after that paragraph.
When Smart Insertion is enabled, the AI decides placement. Without it, recommendations are distributed evenly through the article.

Inline recommendations are rendered as compact cards or styled links between paragraphs. They use the CSS class supercharger-inline-rec. The visual style is intentionally unobtrusive to avoid breaking the reading flow.
Difference from AI Recommendations
The AI Recommendations module places a recommendation block at a fixed position (typically below the post), which can serve as a ‘Read Next’ section. Inline Recommendations are woven into the content itself, appearing at contextually relevant points throughout the article.
Both modules can be active simultaneously.
Requirement
This module requires the content index to be populated. See Understanding Indexing.
Tips
- Smart Insertion produces the most natural-feeling placements. Disable it only if you prefer a predictable, evenly spaced layout.
- Inline recommendations work best on longer articles where there are multiple natural insertion points.
- If you have few indexed posts, there may not be enough related content to populate inline recommendations for every article.
